Studio Archohm’s Dalmia-Gopichand Badminton Academy, known as The Shuttle, treats a sports building as more than a venue for training. Its premise is that architecture can create opportunity around the game and give badminton a stronger public presence.
The academy connects athletic development with sportsmanship and community. In this reading, the building is not an isolated container for courts; it is an institution through which sporting culture can be sustained and shared.
The project also positions sport within the identity of the city. By giving badminton a dedicated architectural address, The Shuttle argues that facilities for training can carry cultural and economic significance beyond their immediate program.
Its proposition is direct: investment in sports space is also investment in collective ambition. Architecture becomes the framework that allows performance, participation and civic aspiration to meet.
