foldable & portable infinix smartphone turns into card-sized device
Portable and foldable smartphone by infinix
Infinix unveils the mini Zero smartphone, a card-sized foldable and portable device that clips on backpacks. Designed with a triple-folding mechanism, the concept device comes with dual hinges that let the smartphone fold and unfold itself vertically instead of horizontally. Ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, the style follows in the footsteps of the now-expanding series of foldable and portable smartphones these days. Some of these recent models include the Huawei Mate XT and OPPO Find N5.
This time around, Infinix’s Zero smartphone folds vertically. When closed, users can mount the foldable and portable device onto gym and bike equipment so they can track their workout, or clip them onto their backpacks for some action reels and shots. The dual hinges allow them to play with the style of the concept smartphone, depending on how they need it. So far, the project is still a concept, and Infinix has yet to announce whether it’s gearing up to produce the foldable and portable smartphone into a real-life device.

Concept device that comes with a ‘mounting’ strap
What Infinix can share presently is that the Zero foldable and portable smartphone can stand upright for hands-free calls and movie streaming. It comes with a strap accessory, so users can secure or attach it to different objects. This allows them to also stick it to the wall in case influencers need to make a quick video for their followers. Because of the dual hinges, the card-sized device can double as a dashboard camera and allow the users to record their drive and monitor road accidents. So far, the company says that the device offers a dual-screen mode.
When the user folds the first half, they can use the two screens for different apps or tabs. The company has yet to share whether it comes with multi-screen mode, meaning the third foldable screen can project a different app. The dual hinges also let users turn the foldable and portable smartphone into its own tripod for taking rear images or even selfies. The issue of creases because of the two hinges on the front screen comes up, and Infinix may set things straight for when they plan to unveil the prototype of the foldable and portable smartphone.
